Caitlin Gillian - Editor on Research for the Radiation Therapist - on working with AAP

Caitlin Gillian, one of the editors the on the title Research for the Radiation Therapist, shared her thoughts on working with Apple Academic Press.

    Radiation therapy in oncology has become quite effective in the struggle for human life and is widely used throughout the world. Often, this technology can completely eliminate the malignant tumor, and in severe forms of the disease - extend the life of the patient.
    During radiation therapy, there is no direct decomposition of the cellular structure, but a change in DNA that stops cell division is provided. Malignant cells are characterized by the ability to violent division and extreme activity. As a result, these cells, as the most active ones, are exposed to the action of ionizing radiation, and the normal cellular structures do not change.
